Introducing Sunset Trail

(Topeka, Indiana) - 9/14/2006

The new Sunset Trail ultra-lite travel trailer from CrossRoads RV shows you can definitely take it with you — and travel “light.”

With the Sunset Trail, CrossRoads innovation has created an ultra-lite travel trailer that is built tough, adhering to the same rigorous construction standards as other CrossRoads towables, including a hung wall construction on an aluminum frame with 16-inch OC studs, as opposed to more common laminate construction found with other ultra-lites. The Sunset Trail also has plywood roof and floor decking, a 6- to 8-inch beam frame and a fiberglass exterior, yet it doesn’t exceed 6,000 pounds, dry weight.

Ample storage is one of the first things buyers will notice with the Sunset Trail. It provides more storage than any travel trailer in its class. Whether it be fold-down bunks, drawers under dinette seats, a ceiling-to-floor pantry, or under-bed drawers (beneath a gas-strut-assisted lift-up bed), the Sunset Trail uses every available nook and technique to store items such as bikes, laundry, blankets and toys. It even has an out-of-sight compartment for those LP gas bottles. Add the exterior pass-through storage for coolers and other recreational supplies, and you’ve got an RV that lets the family pack in the fun with the comforts of home.

Family- and user-friendly touches, like a dry erase board and extra counter space in front of the microwave, demonstrate how well the Sunset Trail is attuned to what RVers want, said Product Manager Larry Weaver, a 25-year industry veteran. “We listen to our customers. Over the years I’ve heard a lot of RVers tell me, ‘Why don’t you do this? Why don’t you do that?’ This is the first manufacturer I’ve worked with that is dedicated to putting in features that RVers want,” he said. “So we have things like windows on the sides of this ultra-lite’s slideouts. And we’ve made many of these features standard. That makes the Sunset Trail a tremendous value.”

The 2007 Sunset Trail product line includes 10 different floorplans that range from 23 to 34 feet in exterior length. Many floorplans include flush-floor slideouts that extend the interior up to 37 inches (compared to 14 to 25 inches for other ultra-lites) to generously expand living space by the dinette and sofa sleeper. RVers also appreciate the private bath and sleeping quarters, including a true 60 X 80-inch queen bed with headboard and dual nightstands in the main bedroom. Bunkhouse models add single or double bunk rooms, which can also be used for storage.

CrossRoads backs the Sunset Trail with confidence: it provides one of the best warranties in the industry — a comprehensive warranty of two years for materials and workmanship defects, and a five year structural guarantee. Manufacturer suggested retail prices range from $22,919 to $26,849.

The Sunset Trail is the fifth towable line to be introduced by CrossRoads RV in the last three years. CrossRoads has used its quality construction and innovation to become one of the fastest growing RV manufacturers, with seven lines of travel trailers, fifth wheels and sport utility trailers.
